“A word fitly spoken is like apples of in pictures of silver. ” (Proverbs 25:11)
Courage – “realizing God that enables us to boldly act in accordance with our Biblical convictions in spite of criticism, difficulty, trials, or other dangers.” Courage is the motivation for us as Christians to do right because we are fueled by the promise of God to help and protect us and by our knowledge, that greater is He that is in us that he that is in the world. Courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it because you cannot have courage where there is not fear. Courage is being afraid but going ahead and doing what you are afraid of. Courage of this kind does not come from self-reliance but from our surrender to God’s sovereignty and our trust in God’s strength, not ours. (Deuteronomy 31:6), “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
