Hope – “living with the understanding that God’s purpose realized in the future requires some pain in the present.” When you received Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, God began to work in you to grow you into spiritual maturity. Because nobody is born fully grown God has to build Christian character in us, therefore, God will allow trials, setbacks, failures, and pressures to come into your life. Is something bad happening to you right now? Are you having trouble? Are you feeling pressure? These are not obstacles; they are opportunities! They are things that God has engineered to build character into your life. Hope, therefore, to the Christian, is the knowledge that we are being changed for the better as we trust in God’s promises. Hope is the conviction that no matter the circumstances, God’s plans for our lives are for good and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. Whatever comes in your life, good or bad, triumph or tragedy, God is using it for the purpose of growing you and maturing you in your faith. Bible hope is a desire based on a promise from God. (Romans 15:4), “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
