Security – “trust and reliance upon God for my daily needs as I structure my life around that which is eternal that cannot be destroyed or taken away.” This is not laziness, but working with God’s values, and organizing our lives around God’s Will with an eternal outlook in mind for a secure feeling. Everyone wants security. We all work for financial security. We all do our best to build strong relationships for our family security. We want to feel secure. Someone has said, “That life is like a dollar bill. You can spend it any way you want to, but you can only spend it once.” Now when you spend money there are really only one of two ways you can spend it. You can waste it, or you can invest it. The same thing is true with life. A person who structures their life around this world’s values, riches, stocks, and its temporal provisions that it affords will never have a sense of security for fear they will lose these things. A person on the other hand that structures their lives around God and that which is eternal enjoy security knowing the things they are building their lives around cannot be destroyed or taken away because they are eternal. An eternal perspective provides us with spiritual security knowing that our heavenly Father loves us and will provide everything we need. (Matthew 6:33), “”But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
